2021.10.25 13:42 Kyakpasa1 Does GPA matter after B4 intern offer?
I'm starting a B4 internship for the 2022 winter season and my grades have started to slip quite a bit. I applied with a 3.8 and my current GPA at the moment is a 3.0 which would bring down my overall GPA by a lot. Do the firms care about my GPA if I were to receive an offer after my internship is completed?

2021.10.25 13:42 FjordStoneBuiltTough Looking for Tips to Run a Strahd One-Shot for New Players
Critical Role got me into D&D a few years ago, and I have intermittently been a player in a group ever since. Our group mostly disbanded after a few people moved away though, so I have been wanting to get a new group together to play. Given that I want to try being a DM (especially with my love for rules and narrating), I invited a group of my friends that have never played D&D to be in a one-shot that I would run. I recently read a great outline from dndbeyond on how to condense Curse of Strahd into a one-night story. Essentially, the session begins with the PCs arriving at Castle Ravenloft and having a time limit to explore the castle and uncover weapons and items that will aid them in the battle against Strahd that initiates at the end of the timer.
My only hesitations come from he fact that this is the players' first time playing D&D. I will be running a session 0 to introduce them to the basic concepts of the game, but for the actual one-shot, I am trying to figure out the best way to balance the game. On one hand, Strahd is obviously a powerful big bad; even though the castle's treasures will make him substantially easier to defeat, his damage output and abilities make him formidable for low-level players. On the other hand, I am hesitant to have new players use high-level characters. The wealth of options and action economy available at higher levels can be intimidating if you are new to the game.
Anyone have any tips or advice on how best to balance the encounter? I have a group of either four or five PCs, and I have prebuilt their characters at level 5. At least two of the PCs have ways to deal radiant damage naturally. Should I raise the PCs' levels, or maybe nerf Strahd himself in some way? Any other ideas?

2021.10.25 13:42 spiderbacon12 I’ve been running into a lot of people that give up very easily…
I’ve run into 2 ranked matches of my 6 in the last two days where my team decides to surrender when only 20 minutes in and objectives, gold, and kills, are very close. In fact, in both cases the enemy team pointed out that we shouldn’t have surrendered.
For some reason I feel like people aren’t as willing to put in effort and see that every match is decided within 10 minutes. Yes, this is true in competitive matches. However, I’m playing silver.
My account is hard locked in silver because of my MMR but I still enjoy grinding. It’s just annoying when my progress is haulted because of the mindset of one guy and everyone joins the bandwagon.
Has anybody else run into this major issue with the community?

2021.10.25 13:42 Infamous-Albatross-7 Thinking if I should make a major life decision by becoming a carpentry apprentice
Hey guys, I’m a fresh diploma graduate, graduated in May, got a job as a Sales Engineer in July, started a part time degree too. So far life has been stable, decent pay, decent commissions, nice colleagues. But I’m simply not fulfilled, I’ve always enjoyed doing sales but I’m not in love with it. I’ve always been a very hands on and creative person. I played with Lego since I was a kid till now. Enjoyed metal working class the most in poly. Love drawing plans and doing measurements. And now I’m just so tempted to quit my job and go and become a carpentry apprentice. I am quite confident I can do a good job. However what worries me is the pay and the working hours I’m not expecting a very high pay, but at least something decent in order for me to pay for my degree and maintain my savings rate. I also see that the working hours are pretty late and pretty much every listing says required to work on Saturday. I need one Saturday to revise and study and Sunday to rest. What should I do? Is there anyone who took the leap of faith here who can advise me? Better still, is there anyone here looking for a carpentry apprentice?

2021.10.25 13:42 K-8-13Y [Help!] Kenshi On Two Computers? Managing Saves?
I have two computers, which I can access every other week. One week with a computer, then the next week with the other, switch back, repeat. I am getting tired of having to a week without playing a save, it makes progress feel impossible. All of the threads I have seen about this are a bit old, and all say to copy the, "saves," folder from kenshi's data onto a thumb drive. For me, that folder is empty. I tried it anyway and it doesn't work. Am I missing something obvious? Has something changed since those threads? I have long-term goals for the game that drive me crazy when all I can do is think about them. I am happy to share any details or screenshots with any soul kind enough to help!!
